WE ROOT TO RISE

The home base of TiLT is a sprawling adobe hacienda that includes fourteen rooms and seven fireplaces, four of which work. We currently have a residential community of five adults, five dogs and two cats. We all work part-time outside of TiLT at different jobs that improve Taos County and the world.

built by skilled hands

Built by skilled hands, TiLT’s traditional architecture includes massive vigas, thick walls, arched doorways, hardwood floors, beautiful views, intricate woodwork, and sacred nichos. The house features private wings, a large shared kitchen, dining room, three shared bathrooms, and two great rooms. We're in the heart of Taos, an easy walk from grocery stores, coffee shops, parks, streams, schools, the soccer field, the library, and the main plaza.

a sustainable living center

We’re using a permaculture approach on our acre of land to incorporate large urban gardening areas, three greenhouses, solar shower, composting toilet, a food forest, water collection, primitive living options, sustainable construction, workshop, meditation and meeting spaces, and patio courtyard with outdoor cooking spaces and adobe bread oven.

Our Great Room is sometimes available to host community events. Between May and October each year, we often schedule weekly “Labor on the Land” work parties and “Food Labs” cooking events. Please contact us for the latest information.
