Words from TiLT’s Wisdom Council

TiLT seeks a local Wisdom Council to guide us in our mission and ground us in our actions, to make sure that what we envision and what we do is good for all of Taos

TiLT has given me a place to grow into my own sense of purpose. Simply put, I’ve become a better man. As a leader of the Watershed Way, I am leading myself and others into a new way of life, We are going to get to work building the community we want our children and grandchildren to grow up in, a community in which we all have enough: healthy local food on our plates, clean water for all to drink, a safe roof over all of our heads, jobs with dignity, confidence in our hearts, trust in our handshakes, and peace in the land. —Daniel “Ryno” Herrera, TiLT Wisdom Council

TiLT’s a place for second chances, especially for me. Because of my history, its often difficult for me to get a job. But I’ve been TiLT’s craftsman and site caretaker for more than four years now, and I welcome most every visitor that comes through our door. When it’s time to get it done, I get it done. I now help facilitate TiLT groups, and want to work more with troubled young people. Being part of TiLT has given me a sense of dignity and shared purpose I’ve never felt before. —Randy Martinez, TiLT Wisdom Council

TiLT helps me reach a larger audience. I’m a passionate educator for a healthy planet, a healthy body and a healthy life…I love being part of a community connecting these things through transformative experiences and life education!—Angie Fernandez, TiLT Wisdom Council

TiLT bridges racial and cultural and class divisions to bring Taos together in powerful ways. During the Poor People’s Campaign, I caught the TiLT vision and now I’m hooked.…As a mother of four seeking a better community for me and my kids, I’m spreading the TiLT vision throughout Taos. And people are paying attention. —Melanie Baca, TiLT Wisdom Council
